Project Manager (Pensions Administration) - Can be based anywhere in the UK and / or Home based

Mercer is seeking an experienced Pensions Project Manager to join our Wealth administration team. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing complex and sometimes larger projects for some our key clients. Typical projects will include pensions dashboard, scheme implementations, benefit changes and de-risking.

  • Projects will cover all areas that impact pension administration such as implementations, benefit changes and de-risking and pensions dashboard
  • Actively manage all project risks and issues, and ensure Lessons Learned on projects are shared with colleagues and recommendations adopted are implemented
  • Liaise with other areas in the organisation to secure specialised resources and contributions for the project

We will count on you to:

Manages moderately complex projects or pieces of a larger project end-to-end to deliver business outcomes, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to a high level of client satisfaction

  • Establish and manage an appropriate project governance structure, and manage all project stakeholders and project team members in the successful delivery of the project, including managing their tasks, project workload, and deadlines
  • Ensure comprehensive scope document is in place at the start of the project, and continuously reviews the scope document as the project progresses and suggests changes of scope, as appropriate
  • Provide accurate and timely cost estimates for project work where requested, together with providing regular reporting on project fees and discuss any fee issues
  • Interact and communicate effectively with project teams, third party providers and clients
  • Provide technical support and input to the Manager on project proposals of average to difficult complexity
  • Research and provide recommendations on new best practice standards

What you need to have:

  • This position is for an experienced Project Manager who has a strong background in pension administration; DB, DC and insured pension schemes
  • Experience of managing pensions administration projects
  • Proven ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable to a changing environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure, able to adjust workloads accordingly
  • Ability to work independently to self-manage complex projects
  • You will be an excellent communicator, adaptable, have strong business acumen and client facing experience
