As the Deputy Shop Manager, you will prioritize the people of Yorkshire, collaborate with colleagues and other organizations, and think innovatively to implement positive solutions.

The Role:

As the Deputy Shop Manager, your responsibilities include establishing a new shop in Hull and assisting the Shop Manager in implementing procedures.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager
  • Manage a team of volunteers
  • Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Adhere to all charity policies and procedures

Specifically, you will:

  • Actively participate in running the shop in Hull
  • Provide cover for absences and support other shops if required
  • Maximize shop income and profit through effective management
  • Lead a team of volunteers
  • Ensure accurate accounting and asset handling
  • Maintain detailed records for tax reclaims
  • Create a professional and welcoming environment for customers and supporters

About You:

  • Educational background to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Experience in managing people/volunteers
  • Previous retail experience, ideally in the charity sector
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Initiative-driven with resilience to change
  • Planning, guiding, and motivation abilities to achieve income targets
  • Good written and numeric skills
