The project:
At Mace we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about cost and commercial management. Our London and South East region is looking to recruit a Cost Consultant who has Education sector experience and can help deliver on our continued growth plans for the region.

We are looking to recruitment a Senior Cost Consultant who is passionate about cost and commercial management to join our Consult Health Team. While you will assist in the delivery of health projects, joining Mace is to join a company that believes in your individuality and potential, and we will support you in developing opportunities and building your career. We are actively seeking people with skills and experience of working in a healthcare delivery environment. We would also like to meet experienced project professionals who would like to move into the health sector as we can develop your skillset for this industry.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
  • Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
  • Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.

You'll need to have:

  • A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent along with previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role.
  • Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience and have sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration.
  • Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
  • Construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
