Summary:

We are growing our team that manages esports for Apex Legends globally and looking for a League Operations Coordinator working hybrid, or remotely based in Europe or Asia to join the Apex Legends Esports team operating the ALGS and other competitions.

As a Coordinator on the League Operations team, you will contribute to the planning and successful execution of all official Apex Legends Esports competition. You will also support the creation of awesome new products that boost internal efficiency, drive fan engagement, and improve the player experience. In this role, you will collaborate with many different teams within EA and report to the Director, League Operations, Apex Legends Esports. Together, we will inspire the world to play competitively and make stars of our players and teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the League Operations team to support the delivery of online and in-person Apex Legends competitions and broadcasts
  • Provide real-time player support and front-line technical support to competitors via voice and text chat during online competitions and in-person at our LAN competitions
  • Support the development of our tournament structure, competitive ruleset, and help administer player discipline, often making critical decisions on contentious disputes
  • Take the lead on the creation and distribution of vital tournament documentation. This may include tournament schedules, travel sheets, floor plans, and other operational processes
  • Organize the collection and handling of eligibility forms, team contracts, player contact information, winner's lists, and other necessary tournament documentation
  • Support the RFP and evaluation process, plus the day-to-day collaboration with third-party tournament operators, that help us create unforgettable event experiences for our players and fans
  • Assist in the planning, design, and testing of our internal tournament management tools, public-facing competition website, and competitive-focused in-game features
  • Partner with EA's broadcast team and external partners to ensure they have access to important tournament information (statistics, player/team information, schedules, and other event details), enabling them to create extraordinary live broadcasts and in-arena experiences for players and fans
  • Assist with installing and tearing down gaming technology (computers, consoles, monitors, peripherals, etc.) during in-person competitions
  • Make it your mission to protect the player experience, both in-person and remotely, during our competitions

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' esports experience working in League Operations, Community Management, or Player Relations at a tournament organizer, AAA games publisher, or professional esports team
  • Previous experience working with broadcast and event production teams in esports or traditional sports is ideal
  • Demonstrated empathy for the competitive player experience
  • Excellent knowledge of worldwide esports industry trends, programs, and best practices
  • Passion for Apex Legends, the Apex Legends Global Series, other esports, or experience playing games in a competitive environment
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize
  • Willingness to work on-call, on weekends, and travel internationally for events
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Experience working on projects making use of modern game APIs is a bonus
  • Fluency in additional language(s) outside of English is a bonus
  • Previous experience working with Airtable is a bonus
  • Some experience using Discord and Discord server management is a bonus
