As a HR Business Partner, you will act as an ambassador for the HR function ensuring an exceptional service to both employees and stakeholders. You will strategically partner the business, translating business strategy into people plans and provide HR expertise, guidance and support, working closely with business leaders and HR colleagues to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company's objectives.

This role is perfect for those looking to really make a difference, you will lead, coach and engage leaders driving a high-performance culture and embedding business changes, ways of working and behaviours to achieve business success and continuous improvement. Working comfortably in sometimes an ambiguous and ever-changing environment is a must in this position, along with prior exposure and experience working with trade unions. This role will specifically support our Operation, Service & Maintenance business, focusing on the East of England so having the flexibility to regularly visit operational sites when required will come as standard in this role.

About you

  • Thorough knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and their application
  • Proven track records of working in complex business structures, ideally experience within Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial organisations, multi-site operations and/ or rail but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain effective relationships.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting the development of pragmatic business solutions within a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective facilitation, influencing, conflict-resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of effective stakeholder management and team collaboration at all levels of an organisation
  • Confident leading on all aspects of people management and development
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience

Desirable

  • Experience of complex business change, TUPE, mobilisation work or similar
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions
