Head of Estates required for an immediate start

Location: Thames Valley Region

Length: 6 -12 months

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Support the Hard FM team and focus on putting place key contracts
  • Manage the estates services across the whole estate with a focus on owned & leased estate for compliance, financial oversight, management of cost improvement programmes and regular performance reporting
  • Produce monthly reports on each aspect of the service delivery reporting against KPI thresholds, agreed annually in advance with the Director of Estates and Facilities with SMART improvement targets
  • Work closely with the Director of Estates and Facilities and as part of the Estates and Facilities Senior Management Team
  • Ensure that the service delivery is supported by a range of specialist, term and jobbing contractors, these are to be periodically reviewed for performance, quality cost and outcomes to ensure best value
  • Ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate Specialist Advisors, Authorising Engineers to support the team and that there are sufficient Authorised and Competent Persons, trained and appointed in writing to meet the operational requirements of the service and exigent circumstances
  • Hold responsibility for significant budgets for pay, non-pay, utilities, and capital (backlog) allocations, identifying and delivering sustainable efficiency and improvement targets
  • Represent the Estates and Facilities division at key operational and strategic meetings as a subject matter expert and deputise for the Director/Deputy Director as required

Essential requirements:

  • You must have Significant knowledge of Hard FM compliance standards and knowledge of lifecycle management/ Backlog Maintenance
  • Experience in a similar role within a healthcare environment is essential for this role
