As part of an entrepreneurial team of this fast-growing business, we are looking for dynamic, result oriented and experienced technology practitioners to help drive growth and shape the future with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. You are expected to possess a unique combination of business acumen, communication and strong interpersonal skills along with a technology passion for emerging cloud technologies.

As a GCP Architect you will shape the solution and architecture for key projects. You should be very comfortable in articulating technology win themes and value propositions that will position Cognizant favourably with its customers. You'll be engaging with our customers and prospects to provide solution and architectural advice and thought leadership covering either of machine learning, data, analytics, apps and infra competencies. Additionally, you will be assisting the offerings group to build out the next-generation offerings & products based on Google cloud.

You will build long-term relationships with Cognizant's customer CTO's, partner with peer technical colleagues and with GCP partner technical architects.

About You:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional in cloud technologies who would like to work as part of a cross-functional team of solution architecture experts in the fields of Infra, Applications, Data, AI/ML, IoT as a subject matter expert in solution/cloud architecture. The role is customer-facing, working closely with business and technical influencers, and will require a background in Information Technology.

Successful candidates will bring multiple years' of experience in driving turnkey proposals for implementing data platforms and analytics as part of cloud data modernization initiatives.

Your Key Result Areas:

  • Provide leadership for the transformation of customer requirements into visions, strategies, and roadmaps to implement data platforms, multi-cloud , cloud data warehouse
  • Outline the solution strategy to provide direction for solution contributors and subject matter experts (e.g. through developing a solution blueprint and transformation storyboard)
  • Stay up to date with state of the art technology trends to propose new features and provide value and innovative solutions to our customer
  • Oversee the design and development of end-to-end technical solutions covering service offerings
  • Build tight working relationship with offshore pre-sales, delivery and other services teams
  • Contribute to written RFI and RFP responses and face-to-face customer interactions including solution presentations
  • Review internal & external cost inputs (including against industry benchmarks) to ensure solution is optimized from financial perspective
  • Contribute to drafting or review of customer SoWs
  • Excellent operational hygiene in all team motivation, reskilling and quality of deliverables
  • Provide thought leadership in solutions approaches, educate sales teams on solution offerings, bid process and changes in the market
  • Collaborate with technology partners to support the reskilling solution teams on the latest market trends.
  • Be seen as a senior practice leader for GBG unit overall, contribute in offering development, go to market strategy and solutions, operational and sales excellence and thought leadership
  • Work with the most innovative and scalable data processing and cloud technologies
  • Work in an agile and dynamic environment together
  • Be a leader and mentor to other/junior team members

Required & nice to have skills:

Must Haves:

  • Experience in architecting data & analytics solutions using cloud native services
  • Data/Analytics cloud certifications (on either AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Aware of PaaS services relating to Data, Analytics and end-point API interfaces - EMR/Dataproc/Databricks/BigQuery etc.
  • Deep Architectural experience in MPP systems such as Teradata/Netezza
  • Deep Architectural experience in traditional as well as modern BI/Visualization platforms (Looker/Tableau/QlikView)
  • Familiarity with cloud data integration/orchestration tools such as Google Cloud Data flow/Cloud Data fusion /Cloud Composer
  • High-level awareness of other partner technologies, which are alternative to native services like Snowflake, Cloudera, Talend, Informatica, Confluent, etc.
  • Proven experience in designing turnkey solutions leveraging best of cloud capabilities
  • The ability to take ownership on an end-to-end solution
  • Demonstrated, strong analytical and technical capabilities, with an innovative 'edge'
  • Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal with great attention to detail
  • Able to present concepts in an authoritative and clear manner to customers through white-boarding, presentations, and proposals
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders at various business & technical levels
  • Knowledge and experience with:
  • Data layers and purpose
  • Processing run time – ETL vs Spark run time, etc.
  • Security controls around authentication, authorizations, encryption and certificates
  • Recommend the migration tools and design data migration strategy
  • Metadata and data catalogs
