We have an opportunity for a compassionate History and Religious Education specialist to join our Academy from September 2024.

We are seeking an enthusiastic History and Religious Education Teacher to join our dynamic team at our secondary school in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher who is passionate about bringing history to life and engaging students with the stories of the past.

We want someone who can, through leading effective teaching and learning, ensure all students will be inspired to achieve the outstanding progress that we know they are capable of.

You must be thoroughly dedicated and committed to driving standards and raising achievement through the delivery of outstanding lessons.

As a History Teacher, you will develop and deliver a curriculum that captivates and educates students on historical events and figures; creating an interactive learning environment where students can explore different historical perspectives whilst utilising a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.

You will have a strong passion for history and a commitment to continuous learning, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire our students.

There will be a requirement to also teach some Religious Education classes alongside History.

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly 'inclusive school' at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'.
