The role: We are currently looking for a Facility Security Controller at our Portchester site, to raise awareness of and maintain compliance with UK Government, Customer and Corporate Security requirements.

Reporting to the UK Security Director, the successful person will manage the ASV Security program of work including risk management, incident management, classified document management, physical security, personnel security and local procedures. The role requires effective liaison with customers and colleagues, promoting a positive security culture at all times.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a confident and proactive communicator, organised and detail oriented, have a customer focussed approach and be an effective problem solver.

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilities Security Clearance - Responsible for maintaining Facilities Security Clearance (FSC) status by ensuring compliance with MOD FSC requirements.
  • Physical Security - Control of access passes and fobs, monitoring of access control system logs, CCTV review, ensuring the provision of lockable storage and keys, liaison with the Facilities team on building security issues.
  • Security Vetting - Process, maintain and review security vetting for all L3Harris ASV personnel.
  • Visit co-ordination - Process internal and external visit requests.
  • International Visit Co-ordination - Process internal and external international visit requests.
  • Security Awareness - Ensure a high level of security awareness, including conducting new starter inductions and bespoke training sessions where applicable.
  • Security Audit - Conduct internal security audits in-line with FSC, L3Harris Corporate Policy and Data Protection Act 2018 requirements. Provide Security input for external audits where required.
  • Security Correspondence - General Security correspondence including liaison with HMG security authorities, other FSC establishments and local agencies in pursuance of purpose.
  • Classified Data Control - Responsible for the registration and control of classified data in accordance with project Security Aspects Letters, Company Security Policy, HMG requirements and other applicable legislation.
  • Security Advice and Support - Provide advice and guidance on all physical, personnel and procedural security matters.
  • Compliance Monitoring - Ensure that staff comply with Company Security Policies as part of their daily practices, promoting a good security culture at all times i.e. clear desks, escorted visitors, locked screens.
  • Security Incident Management - Management of security incidents including containment, reporting, actions and lessons learned. Maintenance of the register of security incidents including reporting to the MOD where appropriate.
  • Security Aspects Letters - Responding to security aspects letters from customers and flowing to internal project teams.
  • Supply Chain Security - Ensure that security is embedded in the supply chain by assessing security questionnaires, flowing security aspects letters and Cyber Security Model requirements, conducting due diligence activities and providing guidance and support.

Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Knowledge of UK Government / MOD Security Policy.
  • Experienced in delivering an effective security program.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Analytical.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Competent communicator and able to build strong working relationships.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Compliance with UK Government Security Policy Gov007 or SPF.
  • Classified document handling.
  • Understanding of the UK Data Protection Act.
  • DISA Security Controllers and Document Handling Training.
  • Audit experience.
  • Security vetting experience.
  • ISO27001 experience.
