Summary

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us.

We're looking for Food and Beverage Team Members to join us at Dudmaston Hall. In this role, you'd be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

Working across both Dudmaston Hall and Comer Woods, we are open to the public everyday. Shifts times vary but starts are usually between 8:45am and 12noon, finishing between 3pm and 5pm, and usually only 1 day per weekend. We work with you to try and schedule around other commitments so welcome all applications.

Hours: Flexible, 0-hour role. This is an hourly paid, fixed term position. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible. The role will include weekends and Bank Holidays, however, there are no evenings or split shifts.

Salary: £11.50 per hour.

Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 25th November 2024.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll be based at Dudmaston (Shropshire, WV15 6QN), a working estate in Shropshire. Dudmaston is home to wooded parkland, gardens and a much-loved family home, lived in for over 875 years. There are multiple F&B outlets, the Orchard Tea-room serving light lunches, cakes and drinks, the Café in Comer Woods for takeaway refreshments, Brewhouse Café and an ice cream parlour.

What you'll be doing

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people, your 'can-do' attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you'll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.

You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You'll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.

We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
