Our client. one of the UK s leading Children s Charities, is looking to recruit several Children s Residential Workers to work across their new Children s Homes.
They are working in partnership with Leicestershire County Council to increase EBD residential provisions across the county and provide high quality support and care to some of Leicestershire s most vulnerable children.
Role synopsis below:
- Supporting young people with various emotional and behavioural difficulties in a trauma responsive way
- Enabling young people to gain confidence and resilience and find ways to respond to and manage their self in relation to challenging behaviour
- Supporting young people through 121 and group work with all their practical and emotional needs and regularly updating records and working closely to support them with all goals and aspirations
- Working to establish strong, positive and consistent relationships with the children and young people
- Creating a warm and homely environment attending to the practical matters e.g. cooking cleaning and general upkeep
- Encouraging and enabling young people to attend education / training / activities and or work
- Safeguarding and protecting the young people and demonstrate a good understanding of themes relating to child sexual and criminal exploitation
- Working as part of a team collaboratively to meet the needs of individual young people and the home
- Working from the guidelines from the 1989 Children s Act, National Minimum Standards, care quality standards and any other relevant legislation

Essential Requirements:
- Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe
- Relevant experience working with children & young people in a children's home setting
- Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays
- Strong working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
