The Service:


The service will support the children and young people in Lancashire and South Cumbria to grow up with healthy minds, feel confident and resilient and fulfil their potential.

As part of the THRIVE 'Getting Help' model Barnardo's will provide therapeutic one to one, group work and counselling support in the community.

The Service will have a number of bases across the area including:


East Lancashire - 2 x Full Time Positions at 37 Hours and 1 x Part Time Position at 28 Hours.

Blackpool- 2 x Part Time Positions at 32 Hours and 33 Hours.
North Lancashire - 1 x Part-Time Position at 28 Hours.
South Cumbria- 1 x Part Time Position at 34 hours.

The Role:
Therapist - Children and young people

As a counsellor/ therapist, you will provide one-to-one therapy across several modalities.

Successful candidates must have:


A diploma level qualification in counselling, child and adolescent psychotherapy, art, play, drama or music therapy which has included a practicum / placement of at least 100 hours of supervised practice.

Considerable experience of delivering counselling to children and young people.
A comprehensive understanding of children's safeguarding
It would be beneficial to have access to a car due to the regular travel required in this role.
