Our dedicated team provides a supportive network both onsite as well as support across the Federation to ensure all our staff feel encouraged to do their best. About Us

We have high expectations for every child and provide expert teaching so that our pupils make excellent progress. We place a strong emphasis on the dedicated teaching of reading, writing and maths so that our pupils have a solid foundation to build their learning in other subjects. Our curriculum is rich, varied and engaging and develops children's knowledge, understanding and skills in all subjects. We have high hopes for every pupil, regardless of their background or starting point.

Every day our pupils, teachers and staff all contribute to making our academy a warm and welcoming place to learn. I am very proud of our pupils' positivity towards their learning and the kindness they display towards their teachers and each other.

We are very much a community school and, as well as developing local links and partnerships, we encourage our pupils to be polite, caring and outstanding members of their local community. This, we hope, will help enable our pupils to become compassionate, ambitious, global citizens of the future. Harris Primary Academy Croydon joined the Harris Federation in 2020 and is part of a family of primary, secondary and all-through academies in and around London. We have many successful Harris academies nearby in the borough and, as part of a thriving community of schools, we benefit from the ability to share, learn, support and challenge each other.

Main Areas of Responsibility

We would like to hear from you if you have:

QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degreeSuccessful experience of teaching the primary curriculumGood understanding of current theory and best practice in teaching and learning, particularly as it relates to achieving high rates of progress of children of primary ageGood subject knowledge of core National CurriculumGood understanding of child development and progression and how this impacts on planningUnderstanding of effective strategies for managing behaviour within the classroom and in accordance with the school's policyAn understanding of equal opportunity issues and how they can be addressed in schoolsExcellent written and oral communication skillsNext Steps
