Year after year, London's Pride celebrations bring people together in amazing ways. The connections and community we build lay the groundwork for a brighter, more inclusive future. Now's your opportunity to play a meaningful part as a Pride in London volunteer.

Pride in London is embracing a renewed sense of purpose that resonates with everyone. We stand as a beacon to highlight ongoing challenges within the LGBTQ+ community, even amidst progress. Our roots intertwine the protest origins of Pride with the spirit of celebration.. Our guiding values – Visibility, Unity, and Equality – drive every step we take.

Our incredible team is a blend of passionate staff and volunteers who champion diversity, inclusivity, and understanding. We hail from diverse walks of life, forming a vibrant community of change-makers. Our ultimate goal? To amplify awareness of LGBTQ+ matters and advocate for the rights that ensure equal lives for all.

With a diverse and dedicated year-round team of around 150 volunteers, we orchestrate Pride in London, the incredible event that unites us all. Your unique voice can contribute to the symphony

Your role

Pride In London seeks a creative digital storyteller focused specifically on developing engaging content across our social platforms. Leveraging LGBTQ+ research and best practices, you will craft informative and compelling posts, captions, graphics and videos to educate and connect with audiences. If you have top-notch copywriting skills and a passion for advancing queer visibility, we want to hear from you

Your responsibilities:
  • Create daily social content tailored for each platform's style and voice
  • Research relevant LGBTQ+ topics and trends to develop resonant, accurate messaging
  • Write clear posts and captions keeping diverse audiences needs in mind
  • Proofread content across platforms for tone, accuracy and Pride brand alignment
  • Develop engaging graphics, visuals and videos to enhance content
  • Track content performance and continuously optimize approach
What you'll bring to the role
  • Excellent writing skills with sharp attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of crafting content for different platforms
  • Knowledge of communicating complex LGBTQ+ issues sensitively
  • Strong graphic design and basic video production abilities
  • Passion for using digital content to uplift LGBTQ+ communities

Role Details

This is a volunteer Role, reporting into the Head of Social Media
