The role:

Cabin Planner

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to join the Planning department within Engineering. You will be responsible for carrying out various planning and administrative tasks while working closely with Planning Engineers to ensure cabin maintenance work is planned and work packages are created to maintain British Airways fleets compliance.

You will be working effectively with stakeholders, suppliers and customers ensuring that tasks are planned, monitored and actioned within a timely manner.

As well as the day-to-day responsibilities, we would expect you to support or own project work as required. These projects will be varied, including process continuous improvement, maintenance plans for one-off tasks, or data manipulation.

We are looking for a team player with good communication and negotiating skills and the ability to cope under pressure by prioritising tasks as required. Key skills in data analysis, problem-solving, attention to detail and accuracy with good computer literacy are a must.

What you'll do:

  • There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
  • Part of an effective high performing team that develops achievable plans to support business requirements.
  • Responsible for managing the ultra-clean and carpet shampoo programme to agreed standards and service level agreements in accordance with the contract,
  • Actively looks for Cabin Maintenance opportunities. These on both planned and unplanned inputs. The focal to make best use of available downtime / capacity for cabin work.
  • Effectively manages key planning processes to maintain Cabin compliance (i.e. seat cover changes, merlin, deep cleans, modifications inputs) and maintains aircraft appearance standards (aircraft washes, paint plans).
  • Supports the Planning Engineer in the management of ADDs, Opdefs, with a focus on Cabin work.
  • Maintain and control work with 3rd party suppliers (e.g. Airbase/Merlin/Aircraft Cleaning/BE/Menzies/Rockwell Collins, Thales).
  • Coordinate Cabin Plans to effectively plan capacity to support standards and excellence.

What you'll bring to British Airways:

  • Recent experience within an aircraft maintenance environment
  • Understanding of maintenance planning
  • Working knowledge of the Cabin
  • Customer products and brands experience
  • Understands Engineering Business and is able todevelop stable maintenance plans to meet business requirements
  • Well-developed analytical skills which can be used to support BA Cabin requirements.
  • Proven written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative
  • Is able toadapt planning skills in support of the Planning Engineer when required
  • Proven team and people skills

Your experience:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent in at least 5 subjects including English and Mathematics and/or equivalent experience
