The project:
We currently have an immediate need for an experienced site supervisor to work in Humberside for one of our port clients. The site supervisor will be an experienced site supervisor proficient in the NEC site supervision requirements and be able to be based on site 90% of the time. The works include the construction of a new 42,000t capacity agri bulk shed (undertaken by a D&B contractor) together with minor infrastructure works to the port. The site supervisor will undertake such activities which provides the Project manager with such information, records, and other detail to enable the project manager to fully understand and appreciate on-site activities and enable him to make informed decisions.

  • Works as part of the senior construction delivery team, taking direction from construction lead and project senior leadership team (SLT), providing guidance to wider team.
  • Promotes and drives the businesses priorities through construction to production, digital & data and responsible business.
  • Understands and formulates short-term plans to deliver to programme, able to communicate with and coordinate trade/sub-contractors. Owns safety, wellbeing and quality deliverables for specific sections of the project.
  • Contributes to establishing and maintaining health, safety and wellbeing culture onsite.
  • Supports managers in leading focussed forecast Lookahead meetings, providing authority and guidance where required.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with client and design CMT, knowing QA process to final sign-off.
  • Provides comprehensive technical expertise and understanding of Mace onsite standards for each part of the Project, where to find them, and responsible for implementation.
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement and plans, identifies key business improvements.
  • Develops and maintain a series of both internal and external relationships.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

  • SMSTS and managerial/professional CSCS Card (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme).
  • A minimum of 5 years; experience in similar positions.
  • Must have infrastructure experience and technical skills appropriate to the category of work.
  • Experience working on a similar size/scale projects.
  • Relevant NEC4 supervisor training (Or proof of being named NEC4 supervisor on several projects will be accepted.

You'll also have:

  • Membership of MCIOB / MAPM / MRICS / MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. .
  • Construction management expertise.
  • Developing commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
  • Good understanding of programme, critical path and commissioning strategy.
  • Good understanding of MEP systems and their relationship to structure/fit out.
  • External, recognised accreditation (CIOB etc) (Chartered Institute of Building).
  • Aware of wider BU, engine and overall corporate strategy, and understands their role within each.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Aware of own workstyle and commits to professional feedback and personal development.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Recognised construction training/qualification (or equivalent).
