Purchasing and Supply Chain Planner
We are recruiting for a Purchasing and Supply Chain Planner to join our Tamworth based client.
You'll be joining a busy Purchasing and Supply Chain Department. Your main responsibilities will include maintaining stock levels using a forecasting system, raise and expedite purchase orders with suppliers, analyse data and continue to understand and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers.
As a Purchasing and Supply Chain Planner, you will need to have/be:
- Knowledge of import/export procedures
- Highly proficient at Excel
- High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Enthusiastic and results focused
- Have the ability and confidence to negotiate with suppliers
- Can effectively prioritise tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
- Be resilient and work well under pressure
- Work logically with an enquiring mind to have a full understanding of situations and to seek the best solutions
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Details:
- Salary: 24, , 000
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday

Role of Purchasing and Supply Chain Planner:
- Review and analyse sales performance vs forecasts using forecasting software
- Communicate with internal departments to understand the nature of exceptional sales.
- To adjust the forecasts accordingly to ensure correct future stock requirements are ordered.
- To identify trends, analyse and forecast estimated sales ensuring sufficient stock levels are maintained
- Responsible for planning and monitoring stock levels
- Place purchase orders with suppliers, adhering to MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) and MOV (Minimum Order Value) levels
- Ensuring suppliers have capacity to fulfil existing orders within lead-times
- Proactively communicate with suppliers to create and maintain positive relationships
- To monitor outstanding supplier purchase orders, liaising with suppliers to meet business requirements
- To liaise with Procurement department for new product projects and ensuring launch dates are met
- Troubleshoot stock supply issues
- Book product inspections
- Communicate with Customer Services on stock availability
- Execute suspended receipts if required
- Keep ETA's updated on the SAGE system.
- Liaise with suppliers for most efficient and cost-effective shipment methods
- Expedite and validate shipping documents.
- Arrange for shipment of goods from UK to manufacturers premises in the Far East
- Check and authorise supplier invoices
- Compile reports for suppliers and management
