The primary purpose of this position is to exercise first level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Manpower and Organization Flight functions assigned to the Force Support Squadron.



Duties
  • Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Manpower and Organization Flight. Develops goals and objectives that integrate Manpower and Organization Flight objectives. Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement process improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinates. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements.
  • Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with MAJCOMs, other base organizations, senior leadership, squadron commanders, and representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and related civilian organizations regarding services provided.
  • Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for manpower programs to ensure operations are in line with regulatory and fiscal requirements, support goals, and mission requirements. Studies the structure and/or functions of organizations with extremely interrelated work processes and functions and accurately advises or proposes solutions to improve processes using Continuous Process Improvement methods and techniques, and maximize mission accomplishment and resources utilization.
