Job Details

The Pathology Core Facility is a high throughput, semi-automated histopathology service, delivering 55,000 requests annually, including 9000 immunohistochemistry tests. We are seeking a Higher Scientific Officer to provide histopathology technical support for the execution of breast cancer research. This will include tissue handling and processing, microtomy, routine staining, immunohistochemistry, and tissue microarray construction.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have a BSc in a biomedical science subject and considerable experience of working in a busy histology working environment together with considerable experience in wide range of histological techniques and a strong background in immunohistochemistry.

Department/Directorate Information

The Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre, within the Division of Breast Cancer Research at the ICR, is the first centre in the UK entirely devoted to breast cancer research. Our goal is to advance research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. It is located in state-of-the-art laboratory space, with excellent core facilities and is funded through a long-term renewable programme grant from Breast Cancer Now.
