Contract: Fixed term for 12 months

Hours: 37 hours per week (1 fte)

Location: Home based with the requirement for occasional travel across the UK

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced statistician, with an interest in ecology, biological data or conservation to join us as our technical expert and lead on provision of statistical support and analysis within Butterfly Conservation.

The successful candidate will report to our chief scientist, and will be responsible for developing improved analytical methods, systems and reporting tools, and produce high quality research outputs, including peer-reviewed publications.

You will be able to demonstrate advanced skills in statistical analysis, manipulating and analysing large datasets, with good written and oral communication skills to translate complex data for wider audiences.

Experience or knowledge of working with biodiversity data is advantageous but not essential.

This is a remote working role, with occasional travel within the UK for attending meetings or conferences to promote our research work. You will need to be self-motivated, well organised and able to work independently, as part of a virtual team.

£33,653 to £38,166 depending upon experience plus 8% employer pension contribution. Grade D
