Trainee Facilities Assistant

East Dunbartonshire Council are looking to appoint a Trainee Cleaning Assistant as part of a Scottish Government funded work experience programme.
Candidate should have an understanding of a good work ethic. The role involves working as part of the FM cleaning team, reporting to the Team Leader, providing cleaning support to users, consisting of vacuuming, dusting, washing floors, toilets, cleaning surfaces and use of cleaning equipment i.e scrubbing machines and buffers.
They should have a genuine interest and use this opportunity to gain essential experience. Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided. The preferred candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
This is a temporary role for 6 months for those who are parents with dependent children with barriers to employment or unemployed for 12 months or more with barriers to employment. Vacancy conditional dependant on funding.

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
East Dunbartonshire Council will meet the cost of the check.
