We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to teach Economics to Alevel within our PPE Faculty.

This is a fixed term position for two terms in the first instance.

Due to the high number of students following this degree route, we established our PPE faculty 3 years ago and are delighted to see these three subject disciplines thrive together at Newstead.

This is a unique position and we are seeking a teacher with a passion for their subject and a commitment to working with most talented and enquiring minds in the country.

This position would suit a newly qualified teacher who can see potential in making their mark in our outstanding grammar school or a more experienced teacher looking to inspire the next generation in this field. Enrichment opportunities provide a perfect complement to the taught curriculum such as PPE Elective, Debate Club and our Visiting Speaker programme. A willingness to contribute to our extensive enrichment and extra-curricular provision is highly encouraged.

About Us

Newstead Wood School is a highly selective girls' state secondary school, with a co-educational Sixth Form. The school is heavily over-subscribed. Students here achieve the highest academic standards whilst also benefitting from exceptional pastoral care. Our school badge, with its symbol of the acorn and the motto Fortitudine Crescamus, meaning 'may we grow in strength', symbolises the idea of growth, both for the school and for the individual.
