Astrea Academy Sheffield (Secondary Phase) have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Mathematics – 2nd in Department to join their team
The Teacher of Mathematics – 2nd in Department will work closely with the Head of Mathematics to ensure the continued success of the department and hold high expectations for all staff and scholars in mathematics, always acting with kindness and candour.
As a 2nd in Department you will:
· Set goals that stretch and challenge scholars of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions
· Establish common standards of practice within the department and develop the effectiveness of teaching and learning in all subject areas within the department
· Contribute to the planning function of the department, and to ensure that the planning activities of the department reflect the needs of scholars within the subject area, AIP and the aims and objectives of the academy
We are looking for:
· Qualified teacher status
· Successful experience of teaching Mathematics at KS3 & KS4
· Degree or equivalent qualification in Mathematics or a very closely related subject area
· A level experience is desirable
