Progress Tutor for Apprenticeships

Southport College is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Apprenticeship Progress Tutor to join our team on a full-time basis.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the college's apprentices, helping to support their personal development, attendance, and progress, by maintaining and completing regular one-to-ones with a caseload of apprentices.
You will provide support in the design and delivery of key information related to personal development and safeguarding, taking a holistic view of learner attendance and progress. You will also work with assessors to ensure students have challenging targets to work towards, ensuring that learners are making the required progress to meet or exceed these targets.
Working with the Careers Co-ordinator, you will provide information, advice and guidance to learners on their career development and progression. You will also liaise closely with Student Engagement Officers to promote the welfare of apprentices and will employ a range of strategies to support apprentice retention and achievement across the college through liaison with employers, guardians and external agencies.
About you
You will need previous experience of working in Further Education or apprenticeship provision, along with experience of delivering relevant support to learners. A strong understanding of the barriers our learners may face in achieving their goals is essential, along with a good knowledge of current trends in education and FE, in particular with apprenticeship provision.
