PERMANENT ROLE - MONDAY TO FRIDAY - £16.22 PER HOUR
Wincanton is offering the opportunity for an experienced Class 2 Lorry Driver to join our prestigious client Howdens, as part of the delivery team out of Warrington.
Delivering to stores driving a curtain-sided vehicle with multi-drop work and no manual lifting. Duties include ensuring the loads are secured correctly, strapping, and unstrapping ready for the customer to unload at the stores. Deliver the goods on time and ensuring paperwork is signed with any agreed asset collected to be returned.
- £16.22 per hour
- £1.10 per hour shift premium between 18:00 - 06:00
- Monday to Friday
- Start time between 05:00 - 06:00
- 40 hours per week (160 over 4-week period)
- 30 days holidays including Bank holidays
Please note: Successful applicants will be required to have a basic level DBS check via the Criminal Records Bureau
How will you contribute?
- 9 deliveries drops per day on average.
- Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately with attention to detail.
- You will be responsible for the accurate and timely movement and delivery of our customers' products.
- Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements (opt out available).
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident, and damage reporting.
- To ensure contractual KPI's over delivery of product is undertaken in both a legally compliant and health and safety manner.
- Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.
- Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy, and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day.
What will you bring?
- Must have valid in date Class 2 licence
- Must have valid in date CPC
- Must hold Digital tachograph card
- Must have minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience
- Must not have more than 6 points on licence
- Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
- Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
- Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering first class customer service
- Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
- Must have a good geographical knowledge
