About us and the role

Warwickshire County Council's Adult and Community Learning is a dynamic, forward-looking adult education service, judged 'Good' by Ofsted. We provide a wide range of adult learning courses across the county. Our county-wide programme for adults with SEND/learning disabilities and/or learning difficulties is expanding and we are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our experienced and friendly team.

This is a permanent, term time only post (36 weeks) for 7.5 hours per week over three days. We have three base offices across the county, one of which will be your base: Pound Lane Learning Centre in Leamington Spa; Bloxham Centre in Rugby and Camp Hill Early Years Centre in Nuneaton. Your main contact time will take place in community venues.

Initially this post will likely be based in Rugby on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (12:45-15:15), though there will be a requirement at times to travel county-wide for service and team meetings, and there may be a requirement for county-wide travel for supporting teaching and learning in future.

Key Requirements

You will have had experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or learning difficulties. Working under the direction of a tutor, in a range of classes, you will have excellent communication skills, patience and a flexible approach to your work. You must be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and to supporting the rights and aspirations of under-represented groups.
