JOB PURPOSE

As our Senior Counsel, Brand Protection EMEIA, you'll be responsible for all Intellectual Property enforcement matters throughout Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA), tackling IP risk across the region, acting on a proactive and strategic basis to identify infringers, assess risk, initiate and respond to potential infringement and counterfeit concerns. You will lead the implementation of Burberry's enforcement strategy in the region, manage a great team and collaborate closely with the global Brand Protection team.

This Senior Counsel, Brand Protection EMEIA role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based in our Horseferry House 2 office in London on a hybrid working basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing customs and criminal enforcement activities in EMEIA, liaising with law enforcement authorities and external counsel and providing instructions on mattersManaging all civil enforcement matters in the region, from sending cease and desist letters, negotiating settlements and drafting settlement agreements through to litigation work and strategyManaging and engaging in online enforcement, including working with service providers, industry collaborations, enforcement authorities/groups and liaising/negotiating with online platformsProviding legal advice relating to and in support of the Burberry's anti-counterfeiting and brand protection activitiesUnderstand the shifting counterfeit marketplace and continue to evolve and implement the enforcement strategy in response to changing business needs, resources and relevant trendsLead and develop the EMEIA Brand Protection team to ensure high performance across enforcement activities across the regionPartner with business stakeholders on education and training across brand protection, supporting the implementation of business strategies and managing riskWorking collaboratively with global brand protection team to align on enforcement efforts and share understanding of global IP issues

PERSONAL PROFILE

Experienced lawyer with a primary emphasis on intellectual property, brand protection or anti-counterfeiting Experience from an in-house setting essentialExperience with litigation, managing evidence, and negotiationsThoughtful, proactive, with strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently while being a team player, and bringing a positive and pro-active attitude to the workplaceExceptional leadership skills with an open and caring attitudeExcellent organisational skills and able to prioritiseFluency in English essential, any other European language skills an advantage
