This is a great opportunity to further develop your career in Health & Safety and play a key role promoting a positive Health & Safety culture at Emanuel School.

As a Health & Safety Officer, you will provide professional, competent advice and support in all areas of health and safety and fire safety. This will involve day-to-day safety risk management and assessment, the preparation of reports for the termly Health & Safety Committee meeting, and the provision of ongoing support to all departments with the management of health and safety in their specific areas.

You will carry out an annual health and safety audit of the school's facilities and departments, ensuring the school is adhering to the Independent Schools Standards regulations and is prepared for an Independent School Inspectorate inspection. You will manage and deliver staff health and safety training, inductions and briefings, ensuring staff are prepared for any health and safety eventuality.

You will possess practical experience of applying health and safety requirements in the workplace, including risk assessments, H&S training, DSE, COSHH and fire safety. You will also provide experience working within the education sector or in a similar complex and dynamic environment. With a working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, you will possess a minimum of a level 3 qualification in Health and Safety and a commitment to achieving a level 5/6 qualification within a defined period. Membership of a recognised professional body is also essential.
