About The Role:

Pay Details: Grade 9

Hours Of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours / flexible

Main Place Of Work: Civic Offices, Barry and hybrid working

As the Manual Handling Training Lead, you will be at the forefront of promoting safe manual handling practices across our Council. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Policy Development and Implementation: Craft and implement manual handling policies that align with legislation and best practices, with a particular focus on people handling.
  • Training and Development: Design, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive manual handling training programmes specifically for the safe handling of people, ensuring our staff are well-equipped to handle these tasks safely.
  • Expert Advisory and Support: Provide expert advice on manual handling queries and conduct risk assessments, with a strong emphasis on people handling.
  • Procurement and Quality Assurance: Oversee the procurement of training services, ensuring high standards and value for money.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety, especially regarding people handling.

  • Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Health & Safety/Manual Handling (People Handling). Commitment to continuous professional development.
