The role
We're looking for a brilliant an enthusiastic UI Designer to join our Digital Experience team here at the University of Bristol. You'll take the lead on user interface design across our website and associated applications, managing and maintaining our UI component library and digital design system.
Are you passionate about creating seamless digital experiences? Join us at the University of Bristol, where you can play a pivotal role in enhancing our digital landscape.
As our UI Designer, you will lead the development of our digital capabilities, strategically shaping and refining the user experience for the University's website and related applications. Your mission: to design intuitive, effective user interfaces that ensure an effortless digital journey for our users.
What will you be doing?
- Utilise a user-centred approach to design, leveraging evidence to challenge assumptions, negotiate with product owners, and rationalise design decisions.
- Foster a collaborative and transparent design process, sharing expertise and insights with the digital team to instil a user-centred design mentality across the University.
- Take the lead in delivering outstanding digital solutions across a diverse range of exciting projects, such as enhancing the course discovery experience for prospective students and improving staff interactions with our intranet.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in digital experiences, contributing to projects that directly impact the University community's daily interactions and overall satisfaction.
You should apply if
- Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies, driving impactful digital experiences.
- Proven track record in designing interfaces and experiences for diverse user journeys and user groups.
- Expertise in facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders to prioritize user needs and navigate complex project requirements.
- Proficient in analysing quantitative and qualitative data to create persuasive designs that meet user needs.
- Collaborative approach, working closely with developers to ensure design feasibility and alignment with code constraints.
- Demonstrated advocacy for user-centred design, effectively communicating its importance to diverse audiences.
