Responsibilities

As a Road Lighting Design Engineer, you will provide support to clients and work as a part of a team to develop road lighting design projects on time, within budget and to the agreed standards. Our road lighting design team works on a variety of projects across the whole of the United Kingdom and our clients include National Highways, Transport for London and Local Highway Authorities.

Your day to day will include:

  • Take day-to -day responsibility as directed; work with team members to develop understanding of the client's requirements
  • Delivery of technical elements of projects with strategic direction from others; deliver within agreed time and cost; understand their contribution to the business unit
  • Proactive personal development and work as part of a team to deliver targets and encourage positive engagement within the team
  • Work with senior team members to think through implications of solutions and discuss concerns with team leader; raise issue in a timely manner to ensure effective, high quality delivery
  • Use professional knowledge to gain commitment from others; strive to deliver excellent customer service; accept personal accountability and positive can-do attitude

What are we looking for?

This role of Road Lighting Design Engineer is great for you if you have:

  • HNC/HND or Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
  • IEng or EngTech (or working towards this status) through a relevant institution
  • Specialist knowledge of the road lighting, and associated electrical networks, typically gained through advanced training or qualifications and experience
