Hello, we're Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. Oh, we're pretty keen on people too.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live.
If you want to do more because you care, we'd love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Waste Water Recycling team have a great opportunity for you to join as our new Maintenance Mechanical Technician.
There will also be a need to support the local maintenance teams in carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance activity on a wide range of mechanical wastewater assets when required, which may also require some cross boundary working with other areas. You must have sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Basic fabrication skills are also required along with good general knowledge of workshop practice.
The role holder is likely to be based at one of our main sewage treatment works dependant on home location but could also start from home straight to site working throughout the local geographical area. You will be provided with a vehicle for business use, laptop, safety clothing and tools appropriate to the job. The position offers an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team working on a variety of equipment and assets, where you will have the opportunity to embrace curiosity and develop new skills outside of your normal day to day activities. Any additional technical training required will also be covered.
In this role you'll help with preventive maintenance working techniques and practices and be able to bring significant experience of working with industrial equipment (mechanical drives, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pumps). You'll undertake fault diagnostics and have the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
You'll be expected to know how to work with process control systems and have a working knowledge of industrial mechanical installation requirements and standards. In Severn Trent we use a number of different devices on the job so your experience working with various IT systems will be great.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To be a success in this role, along with your experience we will be looking for you to have obtained a NVQ level 3 mechanical qualification and also have completed a relevant apprenticeship to help you in the role. A full UK driving licence will be required for the role.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
Working here isn't just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We'll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we'll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.
With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you'll get being part of the Seven Trent family:
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
- Annual bonus scheme (of up to £1,500, which is subject to eligibility)
- Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)

- 10% monthly discount with Busy Bee Nurseries, and one-week free childcare
- Dedicated training and development with our Academy
- Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
