Inclusion Support Teaching Assistant – Level 3

Required for September (Permanent)

Hours: 8.30am – 3pm (30 minutes for lunch) 6 hours per day

Due to the increase in pupil numbers, the Governing Body of Sir Alexander Fleming Nursery and Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant who will join our award winning SEND team and will deliver 1:1 and small group pastoral interventions to develop the SEMH needs of our pupils.

At Sir Alexander Fleming Nursery and Primary School, we recognise the importance of developing the whole child and our TLC area delivers interventions such as sand therapy, drawing and talking, anger management as well as developing some bespoke interventions. We aim to support our pupils' with their SEMH needs in order to inspire and encourage them to become self-motivated, independent learners who actively use their engaging environment to develop their thinking skills and problem solving abilities in a variety of purposeful contexts.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will:

Have experience of working with children in EYFS, KS1 and KS2Have a good knowledge of interventions that support SEMH needsUnderstand the role of an ELSATo consistently support individuals or groups of children Be an outstanding interactor with children and adultsTo be open-minded and non-judgementalTo ensure that all agreed school practice is followed To support the teacher in creating/ maintaining a secure and positive environment, conducive to engaging children in their daily learning, celebrating diversity and successTo promote positive working partnerships with children and parentsThe school can offer: An award winning SEND provision - NASEN SEND Primary provision of the year 2023Dedicated, enthusiastic, hardworking and kind-hearted childrenA welcoming community of children, parents, staff and governors A 'family' atmosphere where support is freely given by all members of the teamExtensive outdoor areas and opportunities for outdoor learning – RHS garden of the year 2023Active governors who are committed to their role as strategic leaders Career progression Professional Development opportunities The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
