Woodbridge, Suffolk, United Kingdom Farlingaye High School Full time

We are looking to appoint an Audio/Visual ICT Technician to join our dedicated and driven ICT Technical Team from 1st September 2024. This is a unique role where you will have responsibility for the maintenance of the school's AV equipment and running the sound and lighting systems for productions and other events. You will work closely with teachers and suppliers and also offer guidance to students who participate in the technical side of these productions. You will also assist the ICT Technician with general maintenance as and when required.

One of the areas that you will support is our Drama Department who will rely on your expertise in lighting and tech to ensure the smooth running and effectiveness of their exams and shows. Ideally we would welcome applicants who have prior experience of providing sound and lighting support or someone with a passion who wishes to pursue this further.

The successful applicant will need to be flexible on their hours of work subject to the needs of the role. At different points in the academic year depending on the school's event schedule, there is a heavier workload and we would require hours to be flexed which may involve an earlier or later start time and occasional evening and weekend working.

Farlingaye High School is a popular and successful school, located in Woodbridge, a pleasant market town situated on the River Deben in Suffolk and just 7 miles from Ipswich. We are a creative school with excellent resources, lovely students and great results. Our most recent Ofsted report graded us Good with Outstanding features.

We are part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Kesgrave High School, Bungay High School and Castle East School. The Trust have also recently welcomed Aldeburgh, Easton, Leiston, Saxmundham and Wickham Market Primary Schools. We are a Teaching School Hub partner, which allows us to improve teaching and learning on a continuous basis. We are committed to providing excellent staff opportunities through developing and promoting our staff and offering an excellent CPD and support programme for new staff. We are also extremely pleased to have launched our own teacher training provider: EAST SCITT. This allows us to award QTS and also QTS + PGCE Programmes within both Primary and Secondary schools.

Should you wish to discuss the job role in further detail, please contact Dave Aldridge, Network Manager or Linda Marsh, HR Manager either at the school on or via email: or

Closing date: 9.00 am on Tuesday, 18th June 2024

Interview date: Tuesday, 25th June 2024

We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on successful applicants including an enhanced disclosure check.
