Faststream are working with this International Engineering consultancy on the search for an experienced Engineer within the Maritime Civil Engineering sector to fulfil the role of Engineer's Representative or Resident Engineer in the Shetland Islands.

Candidates should be degree qualified within a civil/structural discipline and have significant experience within Maritime Engineering projects. Duties will include:
  • Manage and supervise contractors on-site and advise on engineering issues.
  • Management and review of HSE matters on site.
  • Site-based inspections, condition inspections and reporting.
  • Preparation of contract documents, specifications and bills of quantities.
  • Project cost control, payment applications and monthly measures.
  • Technical, feasibility and optioneering studies.
  • Support the production of deliverables such as reports, drawings and calculations.
  • Design management and risk assessment.
  • Supporting work-winning and tender activities e.g. proposal preparation.
Candidates should have working knowledge of CDM regs and have experience of working under ICC, NEC or FIDIC contracts.

Our client is able to offer an attractive package including base salary, annual leave and additional long weekends, health care etc. In addition, due to location of the role, the client will also be offering furnished accommodation, transport and hybrid/ home working for 5 /6 months of the year. Candidates should have the right to work in the UK.
