Pitlochry, Perth and Kinross, United Kingdom Pitlochry Festival Theatre Full time

Since 1951, Pitlochry Festival Theatre has been recognised as the artistic heart and soul of Highland Perthshire. Attracting over 100,000 visitors every year, the Theatre is more than simply a place to come and see a show, it is Scotland's leading producer of musical theatre, a champion of ensemble practice and the country's only rurally-located, major arts organisation. From its extraordinary 11-acre campus in Port-na-Craig, the Theatre's breath-taking surroundings and exceptional work set it firmly apart and, thanks to its unique ensemble and repertory practice, has long been known as the place to 'stay six days, see six plays'.

As Elizabeth Newman steps down after a highly successful tenure, Pitlochry Festival Theatre is now seeking an inspiring Artistic Director to work as a key member of their Executive Team, leading and shaping the artistic direction of the organisation. This role is for a truly visionary leader who can combine creative innovation with strategic planning to drive forward the next chapter of the Theatre's journey.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of and passion for theatre, and be able to chart an ambitious artistic course aligned to the Theatre's mission and strategic goals. Embracing innovation in programming and production, adapting to changing landscapes and leveraging new technologies, the new Artistic Director will inspire and motivate the artistic team, as well as wider stakeholder community groups. As an ambassador and advocate for Pitlochry Festival Theatre, the Artistic Director will create strategic partnerships and deepen existing relationships to elevate the Theatre's profile and reach, and they will cultivate a creative environment that mirrors the diverse communities the Theatre serves, fulfilling its commitment to being Theatre for All and a Theatre for a Lifetime.

In short, the Theatre seeks an individual with exceptional leadership skills who will embody a commitment to artistic excellence and commercial success, helping to ensure that Pitlochry Festival Theatre remains a cultural beacon locally, nationally and internationally.
