The Role

We are looking for a seasoned and dynamic professional to head our Accounting function in the European (EU) region and UK. This is a highly challenging yet rewarding role, integral to managing general accounting for 30+ EU entities, leading a dedicated team of 10+ accounting professionals, driving automation, contributing to merger & acquisition (M&A) activities, fundraising events, and playing a proactive part in post-merger integrations. The successful candidate should have strong technical German GAAP knowledge, a strategic mindset and the ability to collaborate extensively across the organization to define the processes for accounting and reporting.

Your Responsibilities in Detail
  • Lead, mentor and develop the team of 10+ accounting professionals
  • Oversee accounting operations across all EU locations and entities (30+ entities)
  • Review and analyze accounting data and produce statutory financial statements for standalone entities in accordance with local GAAP (primarily, German GAAP)
  • Contribute to the roll-out of NetSuite ERP across the group of companies and newly acquired entities, and drive automation across Accounting processes
  • Coordinate work relating to external annual audits
  • Partner with business stakeholders across the organization and add value to strategic initiatives, such as legal entity rationalization
  • Be a part of M&A activities and post-merger integration
  • Constantly seek for improvement opportunities and drive changes
    Your Background

    To join our team, you bring along
    • Vast experience in Accounting, with significant years people management experience
    • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
    • Significant experience in senior accounting roles, preferably within multinational corporations
    • Big4 experience is preferred
    • Strong technical knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)
    • Experience with accounting software, with a preference for those familiar with NetSuite
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory
    • Fluent German and English
