Elections Staff Wanted

Are you interested in getting involved at election time, either by being part of the postal vote opening process, working at a polling station or at the count? If so, we would love to hear from you.

The Returning Officer for Telford & Wrekin and our Elections Team are looking to recruit staff to fill the following vacancies:

1. Postal Vote Opening staff from approximately mid-June to Early July 2024
2. Polling station staff: Presiding Officers or Poll Clerks on 4 July 2024
3. Count Assistants to work on 4 and 5 July 2024 You must:
4. be aged at least 18 years of age
5. be entitled to work in the UK (in accordance with the provisions of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996)
6. not work on behalf of a candidate during an election campaign
7. not be related to a prospective candidate
8. consent to working more than the normal working hours provided for by the working time directive (where applicable) How do I apply? Please email the completed application form to and the Elections Team will be in touch with you at an appropriate time.
