Job Description

Capital Markets is a core business unit in Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) within Lloyds Banking Group (LBG). We're part of the Corporate & Institutional Banking division, assisting clients with debt and risk management needs. Our team is spread across locations in London, New York, and Frankfurt, operating a variety of financing and risk management products.

About the Role:

  • Work as a risk subject matter expert in partnership with client-facing colleagues.
  • Embed a positive risk culture within Capital Markets.
  • Manage the agenda for the LBCM Capital Markets Governance Committee.
  • Maintain the Capital Markets risk profile in RCSA.
  • Support broader business management activities as needed.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify and assess key risks and controls within Capital Markets.
  • Investigate operational failures and recommend actions for improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date business process documents and frameworks.
  • Proactively manage the Capital Markets Governance Committee agenda.
  • Provide real-time compliance advisory support to colleagues.
  • Uphold professional conduct standards aligned with LBG values.

About You:

Key Capabilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Essential:

  • Solid knowledge of capital markets products and risk management.
  • Proven experience in risk management in capital markets.
  • Ability to articulate risks clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Willingness to be present on the trading floor in London.

Desirable:

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence positive risk outcomes.
  • Attention to detail and strong drafting skills.
  • Sound judgement and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience in planning and organizing workloads.
  • Desire to support and coach colleagues in risk management.
  • Willingness to adapt activities to suit business needs.
