Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Greenwich
Start Date: Immediate
Position: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: Dependent on Experience

Are you a passionate Geography graduate looking to inspire and support the next generation of geographers? Our vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our Humanities Department.

About the Role:

As a Geography Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Geography teachers and helping students excel in their studies. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and make a real impact in a dynamic educational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Geography teachers with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students with their coursework and homework assignments
  • Assist with the organisation of Geography-related activities and field trips
  • Contribute to the development of engaging and interactive teaching materials
  • Provide additional support to students with varying learning needs

Requirements:

  • A degree in Geography or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and passion for Geography
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting teaching and learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A DBS check on the update service (essential)
