About this role

UWE Bristol is seeking a skilled and experienced photographer and educator to join our the existing team of lecturers, practitioners and researchers in our ambitious and highly successful BA Hons Photography programme. The successful candidate with make a significant contribution to the delivery of our established undergraduate course that has an excellent reputation for its quality of teaching and learning, close links to the burgeoning photographic culture of the City of Bristol and to the established cultural and commercial opportunities represented both nationally and internationally.

Our students are based at Bower Ashton Studios, part of the City Campus, and benefit from industry-standard photographic facilities and a range of specialist physical making resources.

About you

You will hold a postgraduate qualification relevant to photographic practices with a strong level of professional experience. With excellent communication skills, you are committed to the delivery of high-quality photographic education, inspiring and supporting students to develop their practice through innovative learning experiences and values-driven pastoral care, promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity.

You will be a photography specialist with a theoretical understanding of contemporary photographic practice and an awareness of how innovative forms of photographic imagery can sit within a contemporary professional landscape. You will have active professional networks that can help our students explore a range of future professional environments.

You will be confident and comfortable working within a team of experienced academic and technical staff to develop all areas of student experience in relation to programme and University goals.

Where is this role based?

This post is based at our City Campus in Bristol city centre which comprises of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini, Spike Island and Watershed and is home to UWE Bristol's creative and cultural subjects.

This is a permanent post and is part-time working on a 0.5 FTE contract. This post is available on a job share basis, depending on the experience of the candidate.

UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is vital to our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore campus-based for all of your teaching activities, although it might be possible for remote working across some research or administrative duties.

£37,099 to £44,263 pa : G grade salary scales (full time)
