Falkirk Council has a large portfolio of commercially let and operational properties.
As part of the Property Team within the Asset Management Unit a Property Surveyor is required to provide a range of property asset management and professional services across the Council's property portfolio.
The successful applicant will be a Chartered Surveyor and will work as part of the Asset Management Unit.
The Unit is responsible for letting and management of commercial property, Community Asset Transfer, undertaking valuations, rent reviews, disposal and acquisitions as well as providing strategic property advice to the Council.
The postholder will also contribute to corporate property projects such as the Strategic Property Review (SPR).
This seeks to rationalise and re-invest in Council properties, enabling services to be delivered from a smaller number of buildings, better suited to service and customer needs.
A programme of efficiencies, disposals and re-investment will enable the property portfolio to be better utilised, more sustainable and compliant with good asset management principles.
The preferred candidate will preferably have a range of professional experience in property or asset management.
