DK Recruitment are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Depot Manager to oversee our clients depot operations and ensure efficient management of resources.

The Depot Manager will be responsible for the overall management of our depot facility, including inventory management, logistics coordination, staff supervision, and compliance with safety regulations. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent organizational skills, and a proven track record of optimising depot operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability to fulfill customer orders.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and stock discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with procurement team to replenish stock as needed and optimise inventory turnover.
  • Logistics Coordination:
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics activities, including receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  • Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise efficiency and minimize transportation costs.
  • Coordinate with transport providers to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Staff Supervision and Development:
  • Recruit, train, and supervise depot staff, including warehouse workers, drivers, and administrative personnel.
  • Set performance objectives and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure team productivity and morale.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Depot Maintenance:
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities for depot facilities and equipment.
  • Schedule regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning of depot infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for facility repairs and upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in depot management or a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and logistics operations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
