We are currently looking to hire an Entry-Level Pig Stockperson for a well-established farm in East Yorkshire.

The position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a 400-sow farrow-to-finish pig unit. The farm operates on a three-weekly batch farrowing system, with weaners on straw and finishers on slats. The unit has been renovated in the last decade and utilizes a wet feed system throughout.

The selected candidate will work closely with the existing team in performing daily pig husbandry tasks, including moving pigs, vaccinating piglets, and ensuring proper feeding and watering.

Requirements:
  • Prior experience in livestock or agricultural background
  • Passion for pig farming
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Commitment to high animal welfare standards
  • Eager to learn and contribute to pig husbandry
  • Dedicated work ethic
  • Hold a full, clean driving license

Salary: £12 per hour (with potential for overtime pay)

Benefits:

  • 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Fixed working hours with some weekend rotations
