Park High is an 11-18 mixed multi-ethnic comprehensive school of almost 1550 students, situated in the London Borough of Harrow. There are very high achievement levels and excellent facilities.

We can offer:

· An exciting learning environment where challenging, innovative and engaging learning is at the core of all we do.

· An award winning vibrant school which continues to achieve extremely high standards, both in Harrow and beyond.

· A genuine and active pursuit of well-being for all members of our community.

· Outstanding outcomes with a significantly positive Progress 8 score and zero NEETS.

· Students who exhibit excellent behaviour for learning and a desire to acquire knowledge and improve themselves.

· A supportive, enthusiastic and inspiring team within which to grow and develop.

· An opportunity to develop your craft of teaching across three Key Stages.

2. Curriculum, staffing and resources

This is a dynamic PE Department with a wealth of experience and variety of specialisms. The department is proud to boast a strong extra-curricular programme with a history of success. Our offer includes activities every day before school, at break / lunch and after school. Students are encouraged to strive for excellence as well as to participate in extra-curricular sport for the many other benefits it can bring. We achieve regular success in Borough competitions, with those teams or athletes going on to county, regional or national competition. Our programme is extensive, with teachers and specialist coaches offering training for, among others, football, basketball, netball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, cricket, rounders athletics and trampolining. The high levels of engagement in extra-curricular sport are supported by a curriculum that is rich in depth but also variety. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic in developing their own pedagogy as well as making positive contributions to extra-curricular and to the continued development of the department as a whole.

Physical Education and sport at Park High School enjoy a wide range of facilities. We have a Sports Hall which hosts Basketball, Badminton and Volleyball fixtures with four-lane cricket nets for winter training. We have a teaching space for Gymnastics, a teaching space permanently set up for Table Tennis and two outdoor Basketball courts as well as two outdoor Netball courts for school fixtures. The school has a separate 11-a-side grass football pitch and cricket pitch, both of which are situated on gated land owned and used exclusively by Park High School.

We teach all of our core PE lessons in mixed gender groupings where all classes experience the full range of activities we have on offer. At Key Stage 3, students are introduced to the concept of GCSE style assessment objectives through their practical assessment criteria. At Key Stage 4, in core lessons, all students take part in a Sports Leaders course, coaching and officiating awards and a St John Ambulance First Aid course.

GCSE PE (AQA) is an option for students at Key Stage 4. We can cater for 90 students per year group on our GCSE course and this is regularly oversubscribed. We also run an extremely successful A-Level PE programme (OCR) for those wishing to take their PE specific study further.
