Job Overview

Designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Designs and develops security features of products including systems, applications and/or solutions. Ensures the security of all products is maintained throughout the product lifecycle. Integrates new security features, updates into existing products, and resolves integration and testing issues.

The Principal S/W System Engineer will report to the Smart System and Electronics Manager and will be responsible for the development of software for systems and products and will support all TE Energy product lines including Crompton Instruments (Power meters), Kries-Energietechnik, Cable Accessories, Insulation & Protection and Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex technical issues also by guiding and overseeing projects and teams

• Design of frontends, backends and middleware of applications

• Design client-side and server-side architecture

• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications

• Write effective APIs (e.g. JSON schema, Swagger/REST)

• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software

• Create security and data protection settings

• Development of software for desktop and mobile applications including GUI

• Interacting with embedded software engineers

• Interfacing to embedded hardware devices

What your background should look like:
  • Software Engineering , Computer Science, or relevant field degree (2:1 or higher)
  • Experience of back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., , Java, Python, , Flask)
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, VUEJS)
  • Familiarity with common stacks
  • Advanced skills in Web- and Cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Fluent communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Self-driven, Clear, strategic thinker
  • Attention to detail and on-time delivery
