Honorary Treasurer

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) is an independent charitable foundation and the largest grant maker to specialise in awarding grants across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton to smaller, lesser well-known charities, community groups and voluntary organisations. We have built endowment funds of over £15m for the long-term benefit of our communities and in the last 10 years we have distributed over £10m in grants to support over 3,000 community projects across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The Treasurer is one of our key charity trustees and, as well as having oversight over our finances, the role offers:

• Board level experience
  
• Oversight of our endowment investment funds (managed by professional investment managers)
  
• An excellent overview of the local charitable sector in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight
  
  The role requires c15-20 days per annum (we hold quarterly meetings) and may be of interest to an upcoming manager wishing to broaden their experience whilst maintaining their career, or to a retiring accountant looking for a voluntary role that contributes into our local communities.
