Astrea Academy Sheffield (Secondary Phase) have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Computing & Business Studies to join their team

The Head of Computing & Business Studies will be accountable for raising standards of scholar attainment and achievement within Computing & Business Studies and to monitor and support scholar progress.

As a Head of Department you will:

Ensure the delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective knowledge-rich and knowledge-led curriculum programme that complements the academy improvement plan and school self-evaluationEstablish common standards of practice within the department and develop the effectiveness of teaching and learning in all subject areas within the departmentDay-to-day management, control and operation of course provision with the department, including effective deployment of staff and physical resourcesLead the development of appropriate curriculum, resources, feedback policies assessment and teaching and learning strategies in the departmentWe are looking for:Qualified teacher statusSuccessful experience of teaching Science at KS3 & KS4Degree or equivalent qualification in Science or a very closely related subject areaA level experience is desirableIn return, we can offer you:Access to the Teachers' Pension Scheme or Local Government Pension SchemeAccess to our Employee Assistance ProgrammeContinued professional development and training opportunitiesFree on-site parking.
