The Accounting Senior Analyst, Inventory Accounting for Cytiva will perform activities related to global inventory accounting & reporting practices, for example Profit in Inventory (PII), COGS accounting, physical inventory (PI) & cycle count sub-processes.

This position is part of the global Inventory Process Controllership COE team, will be located in the UK (Amersham or Portsmouth offices) and will be hybrid (3 days at the office and 2 remote). At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • Lead the preparation of global monthly Profit in Inventory (PII) calculations;
  • Identify, and lead investigation of, key item level differences between monthly GL COGS and COGS per the ALERT margin BI tool;
  • Perform accounting & reporting associated with the global physical inventory (PI) & cycle count sub-processes;
  • Partner with Business Unit & Plant Finance leaders in the above sub-processes;
  • Prepare & record the PII monthly GL entries, together with other MJEs where required;
  • Drive process improvement and automation;
  • Help implement global standard work for the above sub-processes;
  • Prepare inventory account reconciliations;
  • Participate in global Sarbanes-Oxley testing of inventory processes;

Who you are:

  • Hold an accounting qualification;
  • Multiple years of relevant experience in an accounting/finance position;
  • Knowledge & experience of inventory accounting;
  • Previously worked in a global business environment with experience of global processes & transactional flows;
  • Proficient in Excel and in ERP usage (for example Oracle, SAP);

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong analytical skills: able to analyze large quantities of data, identify trends and drivers, link financial results to operational performance and distil them into insightful analysis;
  • Process improvement initiatives;
  • Working in ambiguous situations: adaptable & open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances;
  • BI tools, for example QlikSense, OneStream;
