About the Role- Provide legal counsel and transactional support for the capital markets and investment fund management activities of the ILS business teams in the Alternative Capital Partners (ACP) division at Swiss Re
- Offer legal support for proprietary investment activities across various asset classes
- Analyze and advise on legal and regulatory risks within the ACP business activities, focusing on capital markets and investment firm laws and regulations
- Assist with corporate governance of legal entities under the ACP umbrella
- Facilitate coordination of legal and regulatory issues among different teams within Swiss Re
- Monitor legal and regulatory trends impacting capital markets and investment firms
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external law firms
- Support new product development in the ILS and alternative risk transfer sectors
- Contribute to internal group projects and strategic initiatives
- Organize presentations and training sessions on legal topics
Join a global team that provides legal support to the Alternative Capital Partners (ACP) division at Swiss Re. The organization has been a pioneer in Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) since 1997, dedicated to creating a market for transparent and tradable insurance-linked risk products. The ACP team offers comprehensive alternative capital solutions tailored to partners' unique objectives.
About youThe ideal candidate can identify and report legal risks, provide professional advice, and demonstrate sound judgement. You should possess strong organizational and multitasking skills, thrive in a complex corporate environment, and have a law degree with several years of experience in capital markets or related areas.
Qualification and Experience:
- A law degree and English or New York qualifications, with at least four years of experience in capital markets or related fields
- Understanding of securities law, cross-border scenarios, and ideally re/insurance business
- Experience in managing legal aspects of complex transactions
- Knowledge of corporate, regulatory, and compliance landscapes
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
- Corporate governance experience is beneficial
